Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Christopher D. Anna now regards the Columbia, Tennessee area as his home. Dr. Anna received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Augusta State University in 1993. Following that, he completed his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences in Miami Shores, Florida. He is a member of American Podiatric Medical Association, Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association and is Board Qualified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Anna completed his residency training at Millcreek Community Hospital, an affiliate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. This three-year surgical residency program focused on treating foot and ankle disorders with surgical and medical means. In addition, there was a strong emphasis on treating diabetic ulcers and chronic lower extremity wounds using the latest wound healing modalities. Following residency, Dr. Anna practiced podiatric medicine for several years in Knoxville, TN prior to relocating to Columbia. Dr. Anna meets the surgical needs of his patients at both Maury Regional Surgery Center as well as the Surgery Center of Columbia for outpatient surgeries. He is also certified in the use of non-invasive electro corporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) for the treatment of recalcitrant heel pain.
Dr. Anna has an academic interest in diabetic wound care, limb salvage, heel pain treatments, and is dedicated in providing comprehensive foot and ankle care to all of his patients. He also looks forward to making himself available for lectures to civic and community groups discussing topics that relate to the lower extremity. Dr. Anna also enjoys spending free time with his wife and three young children as well as outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, camping and mountain biking and is a very active member in his church.
Dr. Anna sees patients in the Columbia office on Monday afternoons, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Pulaski office on Friday and Spring Hill office on Monday morning.
